For my mom

So, here's the deal, I'm not a very religious person. "So why do you have a prayer journal?" you may ask. The simple answer is, I did it for my mom.

My mom is amazing! She's a Christian, she has been all my life and for most of hers; she raised me in a loving Christian home; she's been married to my dad for almost 40 years and she is VERY involved in church!

So, even though I stepped away from religion, the tenets and principles are still, in part, guiding lights in my life. So that, coupled with my love for my mom, inspired by the women's retreat she was planning, inspired me to create and design a prayer journal. I thought that it would be great if I could have these journals distributed to the ladies who would be attending the retreat. When I told her my idea, she liked it. So I designed a Prayer Journal. I knew instantly that I wanted the scripture that's on the front, on the front (have a look and see what it is!). And I like the way I chose to design it. I looked at a few other prayer journals online and they didn't typically have the daily text aspect, but I knew I wanted that to be the cornerstone of the journal, so that even if you did not have your bible with you, you would still be able to use it.

All protocols were observed and I ensured that I would honor Christ/Christianity when I was designing the prayer journal especially. I did not think I was in a place where I would feel comfortable (and not like an imposter) writing exhortations following the scripture passage, so I left that to you, the user; and I think that's important because, depending on where you are, how you feel, what you're going through, the texts will mean different things and I think its important that you have a chance to express that without outside influence.

I gave of myself in a genuine way to honor my mom and to pay homage to Christ, even though I am no longer in that space.
